Frequently Asked Questions:

- Being an "on-location" photographer, where do you normally conduct your photography sessions?

This really depends on where you, the customer, would like to have your pictures taken.  I've taken pictures anywhere from inside someone's home to Carytown or a local park.  County parks are a great resource, as they do not charge a fee.  While Maymont, The Virginia House and Lewis Ginter (along with other privately owned locations) are beautiful places to have your family photographed, they do charge a fee to photographers - which the customer would be responsible for paying (on top of the regular session charges).

- What should I wear to my photography session?

Ideally, you want to be comfortable but still look great!  If you're not comfortable in those "too tight" shoes or pants - it's going to show on your face in your pictures!!

I normally recommend for family pictures, to try to coordinate clothing options amongst family members with out being too matchy-matchy. Incorporating bright colors make for nicer pictures; all white shirts give a clean look, but aren't as exciting.

If you are having maternity photos taken, I'd suggest you bring/wear a button up shirt if you'd like bare belly pictures taken.  Accessories such as necklaces, scarfs and bracelets always add nice splashes of color to your photos.

For baby and child photos, any outfit that you love (that they'll also be comfortable in) will work out great!  Hats, colorful blankets and favorite toys also add nice elements to your photographs.

- How should I make my payment?

For most photography session (weddings not included) half of the payment would be due on the day of your photography session.  Once you have reviewed your pictures on line and placed your order for prints/digital images, the remainder of the payment will need to be received before anything is mailed to you.  All payments can be made by cash or check, made out to Amanda Anderson Photography and mailed to PO Box 1992, Midlothian, VA  23113.

- What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate for our outdoor photography session?

I'm always happy to take photos inside at a place of your choice, or reschedule photo sessions (at no extra charge) if the weather isn't nice for your outdoor session.

- How long does it take to edit my pictures?

For most photography sessions (weddings not included), it takes me about a week to edit pictures and send you a link to your on line proof gallery for review.  Once you receive a link to your proof gallery, please look through all of your images and make sure that you're happy with the final product before ordering any prints/digital images.

- If I purchase a disk of digital images, where should I have them printed?

Locally, I prefer Richmond Camera, as they are particular about producing good quality prints - but you can also have images printed on-line through sites like Shutterfly, Snapfish and Kodak.
