Spring Mini Sessions!

February 28, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Believe it or not, Spring is REALLY just around the corner.  For two Saturdays, I'm offering a "Mini Spring Session" package which includes a half an hour of photography and a disk of 10 digital images for $75!

Saturday, April 27th, I will be taking outdoor photos at Cheswick Park in the West End from 7:30am until 10am.  Then, on Saturday, May 4th, I will be taking outdoor photos at Sunday Park on the South Side from 7:30am until 10am.

Family photos are so gorgeous in an outdoor setting, especially during Spring.

Please call or email me to reserve your 30 minute session!  I look forward to seeing you!

The Beach is Cold, but Gorgeous!

It may not be the ideal time to visit the beach, but I headed to Nags Head this past weekend.  It was a time for relaxation and renewal - and the amazing sky and beautiful waves really set the tone.

Yes, It was freezing and the wind was blowing like crazy, but I couldn't resist walking along the beach, alone, to snap some pictures.  Sometimes when you're not even planning to take out your camera, you can get caught up in the surroundings and have the opportunity to capture some great shots.

The beach is one of my favorite places to regroup and put my life back into perspective; I feel so tiny when surrounded by an amazing sky and crashing ocean.

Here are a few pictures from my weekend.

I Love New York!

I love traveling, as it really opens my eyes and gives me photographic inspiration!

I just got back from visiting NYC and every time I go, I love it even more!  Yes, they just got pounded by a bunch of snow... but the city didn't skip a beat.  Here are some shots that I love from my trip.

First... construction is always going on... but I couldn't help notice this heart-shaped rip in the fabric covering the fence at a construction site!

Here's an awesome American Flag hanging out in the Wall Street area.

I was really intrigued by this African carving at the Natural History Museum.  Kinda cool... kinda freaky!

Down at the South Street Seaport, lots of businesses remain closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy... including the Heartland Brewery.  Thank goodness we had the opportunity to visit their location in Times Square!

If you're looking for photographic inspiration, take a weekend road trip with your camera in hand.  I'm sure you'll find lots of new and interesting things to photograph!  Happy Shooting!  :)

Working Through the Cold Weather

As you can imagine, I don't have a lot of outdoor family or wedding photography sessions when it's really cold, like it has been lately!  No one wants pictures of their little ones trying to fake a smile while freezing to death with a shiny red nose!

Over the last couple of weeks, I've been working on organizing things to make my busy times run a little more smoothly.  I'm taking a look at my photography and am trying to improve on my techniques.

For those of you that don't know, I'm a beer lover and really enjoy taking pictures of bottle caps and beer related stuff.  Currently I'm working on finalizing some beer pictures that will hang up at The Center of the Universe Brewery in Mechanicsville.  If you haven't checked out this brewery, you really should.  They have delicious beer, on tap, as well as art work from many local artists,  adorning their walls; it's pretty cool.  Hopefully I'll have something "brewery worthy" hanging up there in February, so be on the lookout.

Cheers!  :)

Changes to our site!

January 19, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all well into your New Year's Resolutions and sticking to them!

One of my resolutions was to make some great changes to the website (as well as keep the photos up to date) and I've been diligently working on that!  Hopefully with the new changes, I'll be able to keep the website fresh as well as communicate new and fun specials that I'll be offering this year.

One special that I've offered already this year (and posted via Facebook) is the Quarterly Family Photography Sessions for $400 a year.  This would secure you four family or child photography sessions over the next year at $100 a visit.  You do not need to pay the $400 up front, of course, you can pay the $100 fee per visit.  This fee includes an hour long photo session as well as a disk of 30 digital images for you to print and use as you'd like!  It's a great deal from our normal price of $175 per session and disk!

Thank you to everyone that takes the time to read my posts on Facebook.  I'm going to try to keep up with a blog over here as well, so check back for great deals and fun photography tips/tricks.

I am really looking forward to photographing all of my valued friends and family over the next year!

Cheers!

Amanda
